What's With the QOGM Special Events and Pre-Payments?

We specificially designed QOGM to support local businesses. 
In addition to the normal accommodation, fuel and food spends, we book events etc, where appropriate, to diversity
your expenses through wages, suppliers and distributors local to the scene.

When we book an Event (Meal, Lunch, Special Tour, etc) we have to provide set numbers of attendees to the venue.

This is to ensure the organizers will have enough supplies on hand to cater for our needs.
It could take up to a week for food supplies to arrive in the Longreach Shire, so we need to give firmed numbers a week before the event

Pre-paying ensure that (a) we have the numbers required and (b) we can meet the Invoice Amount for the event on the day.

Here is the Breakdown:

Sunday:  Lunch on the Deck

Thursday: Scouts Breakfast

Join us at the Showgrounds for a special Breakfast
to get you fuelled up for the morning's Caching.

Help support the local Longreach Scouts.

COST  $20 per head

Thursday: Lunch in the 'Burra

A BBQ Lunch
in the fabulous metrolopis of Muttaburra.

Help support the local Progress Association

Get yourself ready for the afternoon geocaching run back  into Longreach!

Friday:  Silver-Tails Rail Sunset

An Outback Rail Adventure

Join us for the ultimate late afternoon experience.
Live it up as the sun sets over the mighty Thomson River floodplains,
whilst savouring signature canapes, enjoying a drink, and quality outback
hospitality on a heritage Rail Motor.

We have book an entire carriage (Capacity 35 persons)
AND secured a 10% fare reduction!

A once-in-a-lifetime experience - you would have to be
back in Longreach on a Friday night to expereince this again
and at full price!

Saturday:  Lunch in Isisford

A break in the middle of the Muster Trail: head straight to the Golden West Hotel
slap bang in the middle of town!
Your lunch special will be freshly cooked for you before you head out for the
afternoon run of Muster Caching through the  backroads up to Ilfracombe.

An official Geocaching Event at 12 noon leads into lunch.

Saturday: Closing Dinner

After the Closing Ceremony across the road we will sojourn to the hsitoric Wellshot Hotel,
where we will enjoy a two course meal during which
all the draws for prizes from the previous days are to be claimed.

The meal is a Country Roast, followed by a traditional Apple Crumble and Custard.

Cost:  $30 per head.
