Free camping
There are only TWO free, self-contained camping sites for up to 3 nights for those camping in a caravan or motor home. Camping in a tent or car is not allowed. Illegal camping on Council owned or controlled land can now attract an on the spot fine of over $700.
Tully Park in North Maclean. S27 47.039 E153 00.625 From Mt Lindesay
Highway travelling north towards Brisbane, turn left into Greenbank
Road, then left gain into Beryl Parade until the road ends in the
park.
(Note: Due to issues with the homeless crisis in QLD, this park is
currenty closed. Awaiting further advice.)
Hugh Muntz Park in Beenleigh. S27 43.051 E153 12.566 From George Street (the main street in Beenleigh) turn into Reisers Road near the Pacific Motorway.
Paid Camping/Caravan Parks
Regarding the Beenleigh Showgrounds:
No sites available between 21-30 September 2024.
This is due to the annual Beenleigh Show being held at the venue.

There are some great bargains on Airbnb, especially for geocachers who wish to pool resources - eg. a search in May (for two weeks around the GCLOGAN dates) found a Home in Slacks Creek for 8 guests (Queen or double beds in each of 3 BRs and a Double sofa bed in the living room) for 14 nights at $3,680 - that's $263/night or just $33 per person.
